California woman sentenced for allowing 7 yr old boy to be molested in wacko home-made “religion”
SACRAMENTO, (AP) —
Irene Hunt, the common-law wife of a self-styled religious leader, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for transporting her 7-year-old son to have sex with an adult.
Hunt’s common-law husband, 60-year-old Allen Harrod of Sacramento, was found guilty earlier this month of transporting minors for sexual activity.
He was accused of engaging in ritualistic sex acts with children from two families for more than a decade as part of a religion he claimed to have started. One of his followers, 48-year-old Michael Labrecque, also was previously convicted.
Hunt, 53, already was in state prison, serving 20 years and eight months on child sex abuse charges. She then pleaded guilty to additional charges of transporting her son to Texas to have sex with another of Harrod’s followers, Juliette Labrecque, who was then 33.
The crimes stemmed from a religion that was created by Harrod and that encouraged sex with children to promote their maturation. Shubb said the professed religion was nothing more than a rationale for child sexual abuse.
Harrod is serving two life terms plus 62 years in California state prison on multiple molestation charges. He and Michael Labrecque are scheduled to be sentenced April 21 on the federal charges. They face up to life in prison.
Prosecutors said the crimes were committed between 1991 and 2002.

Ernst John Rohde, 63, of Stockton, entered guilty pleas Friday to two counts of receiving child pornography. U.S. District Judge Jeremy Fogel is to sentence Rohde on June 25 in San Jose.
Federal prosecutors say Rohde downloaded thousands of images and videos of child pornography. Rohde admitted that he had used computers at NASA Ames and at his home to access images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Anger , resentment, fear , disgust, are real things -what gets labeled as the 5 year-old kind of ‘hate’. So is discerning ‘differences’ and preferences -which gets labeled “racism” .
Having legitimate concerns, and anger is not the made-up hate creation of the media. Besides, actively hating someone takes a lot of energy, and can make you sick if you aren’t doing anything about it, just talking about it ad infinitum. It makes us look pathologically obsessed to be on it about stuff like “hating our enemies” 24-7. People have lost sight of the perspective outside WN-land -and I don’t believe many WNs are all that hateful anyway, I know some with hearts of gold.
In any case, I don’t believe in equality, that it even exists in nature or otherwise (maybe math and science) so I just can’t hate everyone equally. It’s just not fair to the ones who truly earn it. Hate is a personal thing for some, to others, they are OK with free floating ‘hate’, I don’t care for that myself. I’ve said a few times on the board over the last few months, I prefer ‘fair’, as what is fair is often not equal . Do I feed my almost 6’2 son the same as my 4’3″ son? That would be ‘equal” but not fair. Does it mean I love the one less who gets a smaller portion of food because they don’t need as much? No. That’s just silly. But that is the way the ‘people in charge’ are doing things. They are giving away our portion, our kid’s portion, our grandparent’s portion to people who don’t need or deserve it, people who are not us, and let’s be honest, we don’t love. People who use our benefits and bring us disease , never-ending poverty and death, all for cheap labor, and the wages of sin for slavery, as well as just bad ideas as far as importing third-worlders, and every European land is struggling with this.
It is easier to proceed step by step carefully with a cool head- when dealing with things on the computer at least, again, common sense- avoid jail, avoid getting shut down, why shoot your mouth off about stuff you aren’t doing anyway and put yourself at risk and others..unless..of course..you have nothing to lose in advocating violence or suggesting criminal acts. ..unless there really isn’t any risk to you..just talking like a bad-ass doesn’t get you in trouble , does it? This is America, right? But you might not be worried about those things like someone pulling a Matt Hale on you because because..well..figure it out kids….you’re already a cop/fed/infiltrator!
Think about that next time you hear someone talking about how when you need to have someone hide a body to call them. Big talk because they know no one is ever going to do that -and if they actually DID get a call like that, what do you think they would REALLY do? Well, that will make us , like I have said many times before, one dimensional, and dwelling on the negative. You will be missed, Jim. Thank you for all the times you showed your kindness in small ways, for the messages of warmth and support. I so wish I could have at least tried to help you when you were hurting, that I had known before it was too late. I think of how there were so many times I wanted to ask for your help, but like you, I wanted to appear stronger than I am, and didn’t want to cause trouble for anyone. Part of me is somewhat angry about what you did -was talking to a friend today who met you, and he is angry about this, because it’s too late – men don’t like to feel helpless- I don’t have to tell you this.
Worse, they worry for themselves when they see someone who seemed so solid and strong, lose control- it is a scary thing. I’m angry , not because ‘it makes the Cause look bad’ and I am certainly not your judge, but angry simply for your loss- the world is much poorer without you, and I’m angry at myself for not reaching out to you when I needed help simply because I didn’t want to cause trouble. I do think I understand from what you wrote,and things you had told me years ago that it wasn’t so much about what she did-but how you were treated following that and perhaps before. I understand about wanting to be strong, and then the pain getting to be too much, how very cruel people can be. I know you believed in God, and I know you prayed and asked for forgiveness and strength many times long before and after it was all over. You were a true believer- In a way, that is why I don’t understand how you ended up like this, because I thought you had faith, something I don’t really have, and I thought people that have faith could never do this, that their faith “protects them, keeps them strong” . Youknow, the ‘God doesn’t give us anything we can’t handle’ . I suppose that is just another remnant of my naivete, that Christians are above human frailties and of course the belief in the ‘WN Ubermensch’. Now I see how great the need is for real life community versus only cyber-community. I now see how alone you really were.
I’m not a tremendously social person, probably much less social than yourself, it works well enough when things are tolerable. We get by. Maybe we get sick a little more often , maybe our hair falls out, maybe we cry more often, or don’t eat right, smoke more, sleep less, take aspirin for chest pains or just feel like crap but we are able to still function-because we have to– but there comes a point where we can’t do it alone anymore, the pain is too much, and I know you were there. Pain which brings you out of sanity and into the land of dispensing your own brand of justice or simple escape, cashing it all in. I am hoping people start to make changes as far as what could be called online isolation and localized isolation brought about by not living around those of a like mind and perhaps most importantly, starting to countone’s life off line as working for the cause.
Of course, like what happened to you with the newspaper- one may be ‘outed’, whether one finds out about it as you did, or it happens more covertly. Even relative or total unknowns- people may treat them the same, they may have better luck in the outside world- but WN is in our head either before or after we officially discover WN, and it changes how we see the world, known or unknown WN struggle with that. There has to be some respite, a counter to the sturm and drang of bad news, people getting deported, arrested – our own getting killed, violated- general life worse than the world in which we were brought up. People throw stones in the political arena- and they will- whether or not they have a real idea about who you are ,what you have given or sacrificed. They’re still kids. To deal with all the online infighting, mindgames and s(*&-talking, and then to have to deal with more of the same in real life- those kids do not yet know what we know: that only someone who knows one very well can truly make one suffer, but I am preaching to the choir.
Know this, Jim- your fall does not take away from who you were and still are in our hearts and memories , the many good things you did, and time you dedicated to help others, stood up for what is right for various victims of crime, and causes even unrelated to WN , like breast cancer- how you wanted to be part of things and were rejected for your political beliefs and were denied entre into this or that volunteer effort or local organizations more than once , your great ability to promote, organize and motivate people. I still have that Coombs file and lots of your old radio shows.

Something I found the other day, one of my favorite (modern-day) books, on audio. The plot itself isn’t the big deal, I just like the way she tells it.
That, and it was written in the 80’s, “talking ’bout my generation “(X, I think they call it?). Though the protagonist is a male, I can identify with and recall his disaffection with his environs, his yearning for something meaningful and eternal, yet “back in the day” , all people cared about was trying to get a job with IBM, BMW’s, the whole “dress for success” thing the awful bumper stickers ” He who dies with the most toys wins”, “I’d rather be shopping”. I graduated HS at 17 and had my share of retail jobs before I moved up to another level of part time “pink collar “employ while in college. All told, I probably worked in bookstores 4-5 years.
In the 80’s people could not get enough of Trump, the One Minute Manager, and books on how to hyper-decorate in an almost drag-queeny way, like umm “Laura Ashley” (gag), which was like girlie frou-frou on steroids, which stood in stark contrast to the Madonna-ish “Beverley Hills homeless hooker” look of the time. You would see one of those come in, in all her hair sprayed, shoulder-padded glory and plunk down (on the credit card, natch) maybe a couple hundred bucks on books, with titles like “Nancy Reagan’s tells All about Ronnie” or “Never Wear Blue Eyeshadow:Avoiding Make-up Faux Pas” and then maybe a stack of romance pulp with titles like “The Reluctant Pagan” or “Love’s Chained Misery” with obligatory buxom wenches grasped by Fabio, the male-model de jour.
In any case, I cannot completely skewer the 80’s, there were many things I did like about them, including a weakness for what my teenager calls “ferociously-upbeat-songs-about-nothing”. It’s true. Those were better times , when we were young and believed the world would be an OK place when we were “this age”. People worship Reagan as a conservative, but someone was telling me just this week he was the second one after JFK who f&^ked things up as far as immigration, perhaps worse. And yet, one of the questions at the Republican debates was “Who would Ronnie Endorse?” (or, would Ronnie endorse/vote for you?). I don’t think things were all that awful then for blacks either.
They certainly weren’t tearing down their public housing to build these “mixed income” condos, the new thinking being, just scatter them around, government still pays, but the problem isn’t as noticeable, and we can make the people who have to pay market rents miserable by having to live next to them to boot. Kewl. That travesty was Clinton’s idea. According to my research it is on its last legs, however , it has been replaced by something perhaps even more evil: Housing vouchers. The Section 8 crowd can take these “free rent checks” and live anywhere a landlord will accept them. Often times they are written for the highest of market rents, thus providing an incentive (where otherwise there would be none ) to rent to undesireables.
People weren’t so doggedly into “politically correct” either, then. Now it is to the point where it doesn’t help the people they are so worried about offending. Poof ! You’re equal! the Equality Fairy says, magically bestowing the gift of reading comprehension and higher math upon those whom moments before, were debating the merits of spending the afternoon inseminating their next “baby’s mama” , car-jacking, or robbing a bank, or perhaps if ambitious enough, all three! An 83-year-old former SS prison guard who was sentenced to life in prison in Italy for Nazi war crimes was jailed near Naples Saturday, hours after he was extradited from Canada.

I have no idea what the angle is of the blog-owner, but I find it entertaining, even though I don’t always like everything that other “white people” like. I put white in quotes because I identify more as “European”, not for snob factor BS, not because I’ve ever been there- had my chance, afraid to fly- but more because of the fact that compared to many “white people” , my own family are somewhat recent(Euro) immigrants, one set of my grandparents were not born here, and we have many of the ideas , practices, whatever you want to call it- we identify with our ‘ethnicity’ culture more than with the “American White” construct (which is not really a construct if you actually *are* an American White. I identify as Greek, German-Italian 50/25/25- I believe “white” is really a catch-all term for the real thing , which is European- which all Whites are. The Italians say ” Americano ” (said like “med-ih-gann”) – the deal is this, all water, is pretty much liquid, but not all liquid is water. American Whites are Europeans, of course, but not all Europeans are American Whites (like been here hundreds of years, settlers, pilgrims, founding fathers, etc).
This is kind of like that TV channel, where it’s “All Nazi, All the Time”-
Here in California, when we think of “workshop” we think of pilates, yoga, or make-your-own-diesel fuel, or learn about solar power, or go to the hot springs or fake monastic retreats to learn something, or commune with nature, eat organic foods and stare at the waves, gently contemplating our navels, while the illegal alien watches our kids and cuts our grass…

He was probably on their list of geriatric “Nazi’s” to hunt down, until they discovered he was already dead, but they had to justify the expenditure somehow, hence “educating” the town- obviously not all want to hear about it or believe it.

Non-sock puppet folks I know “IRL” (in real life) agree Wiki is like a tourist info center, a neither here nor there place that might have a sign pointing you to an actual useful place for further exploration, but not a destination in itself. Anyway this Spicuzza woman went after a particularly vicious Wikian “editor” . Ooo “editor” .. sounds kind of legit and important, right? Nah. In case you didn’t already know-anyone can be a “Wiki editor”. Example: a person can have their friends edit their wiki page and argue “fairness” thus making their friend’s page more flattering, less slimy or further toot their friend’s horn in a vainglorious display of boot licking suck-up splendor-
I believe boot licking+WIKI are sort of “IKI” (icky) together , eliciting pathos rather than eros. The reverse of which is the personal crusade against other wiki-idiots/page subjects as the SF article illustrates. Gawd, getting into endless notations/deletions/debates over defining “Wiki-reality” makes pulling weeds seem fun. A thing is what it is, Wiki or no Wiki, and usually shows itself by itself enough in time that no Wiki-editing is necessary, enough people just “know”.
Of course there are Wiki- parodies out there, unfortunately these seem redundant in Wiki’s wake, the encyclopedic equivalent of “Can I has cheeseburger/lolcats” (google it, srsly).
So,here’s to “equality” in editing/fact-checking, everyone having an = chance to sockpuppet, suck-up, tear-down, play pretend, make up stuff, get into long , drawn out life-wasting wiki-battles and bootlick ! Whee!
While everyone who reads an entry can click through to its editing history, as well as to any accompanying debates about changes and additions, you often still have no idea who the real-life editor is. How can you consider the source when you don’t know who the source is?

Ingleside’s $6.9 million library project is being funded by the Branch Library Improvement Program, approved by voters in 2000, which authorized $106 million in bonds to rebuild and renovate the city’s 26 branch libraries, and to build a new facility in Mission Bay, which was opened last month.

The protest was over the City Council’s Jan. 29 statement that the Marines, who have a recruitment center downtown, are “unwelcome intruders.”
After 3 1/2 hours of public comment and debate, the council voted early Wednesday to back down from the statement.
Toprevent similar controversies in the future, City Councilman Gordon Wozniak has proposed that every item submitted by the Peace and Justice Commission – where the Marines statement originated – undergo two readings by the council. Usually commission items need one reading.

A federal grand jury indicted Ward, a former Catholic priest, in September on two counts of possessing and distributing child pornography using the Internet. After the indictment was unsealed in December, KGO-AM fired him from his job as a talk show host.
His attorney, Doron Weinberg, said the conversations Ward had with the woman consisted only of role playing as part of a book he was researching on hypocrisy.
